You know that charism discernment could be a game changer in your parish, but the next question is often: how would we do it? The answer is often to form your leaders first.
The Combined Leadership Program opens doors for leaders across your parish in both adult and youth spaces to understand their own charisms and start imagining how it could be rolled out to the entire community of adults and teens. This is one of the best ways to begin charism discernment in your parish because it forms the people with the greatest impact from the very beginning.
This program is completely beginner-friendly, and there's nothing you need to know before you begin. We will give you everything you need to discern your own charisms and help your leaders do the same.
This program is a formation path your team walks together, at whatever pace your calendar allows.
They take the charism assessment themselves. Every leader gets their own custom report naming the charisms the Holy Spirit is most likely working through.
They go on retreat, without leaving the parish. Two on-demand charism leadership retreats come with the program — one built for your adult team, one built for your youth ministry team.
They learn what a leader does with this. Letting Grace Lead is written for ministry leaders specifically: how to discern your own charisms as a leader, how to recognize charisms in others, and how to build culture and systems that relies more on the Holy Spirit than human beings.
They learn to help others discern. Two seats to Volunteer Accompaniment Training teach a leader how to walk someone through discernment one-on-one or in small groups.
They see the models before they pick one. The Guide to Parish Models of Charism Discernment lays out how different parishes create ongoing systems around community charism discernment and helps leadership teams plan for next steps that are a perfect fit for their unique community.

Each person takes the charism assessment online in about twenty to twenty-five minutes, and it saves as they go, so nobody has to finish in one sitting. They get a custom PDF report naming the charisms the Holy Spirit is most likely working through.
The assessment is the starting point, not the verdict. It narrows twenty-four possible charisms down to the ones most likely present, and then the person tests them in service and prayer — which is where discernment happens. After a period of discernment, we invite you to enter into "charism commitment," which allows you to intentionally steward the gifts that God has given you moving forward.
This is the leader formation tier. It forms your team, but it is not made to roll charisms out to the whole parish:

Whatever you spend here credits toward it if you move up later.
